MLO2mgetty is a utility to put facsimile received with the ELSA MicroLink Office modem into the incoming spool directory of mgetty+sendfax. The intention of this utility is to process facsimile received standalone by the modem and facsimile received by mgetty in the same way.

The ELSA MicroLink Office modem has a flash memory for fax and voice reception without PC. It can store about 70 facsimile pages. For more information about this modem visit the Home Page of the Neue ELSA GmbH, please.

Mgetty+sendfax is a package containing programs to send an receive facsimile in a UNIX^® environment using a class 2 fax-modem. It was written by Gert Doering. You can get more information about mgetty+sendfax on the Mgetty+Sendfax Archive/Documentation Centre.

MLO2mgetty can process facsimile files from the modem's memory. It stores them as G3 files into the incoming spool directory of mgetty+sendfax. It sends an email and calls a notify program for each received facsimile. MLO2mgetty tries to act like mgetty receiving a facsimile.

MLO2mgetty is designed to work on UNIX^® systems.

You must have Gert Doering's mgetty+sendfax package properly installed on your system. You can get the latest version of this package at the Mgetty+Sendfax Archive/Documentation Centre.

MLO2mgetty was build an tested with Linux kernel version 2.2.14 and mgetty+sendfax version 1.0.0.

NOTICE: MLO2mgetty is under heavy development. The current version 0.1-pre1 ist a first pre-release. It may contain tons of bugs. Use it on your own risk. You can help me to make MLO2mgetty better if you send me an email with your experiences with MLO2mgetty.
